jeans and booties (#fashionfriday)
Last week I attended a media breakfast hosted at The Peninsula Hotel with ESPA founder Sue Harmsworth. The event was at 8:30 am and having just arrived home from a week in Las Vegas the night before, I was feeling a little jet lagged. It was all I could do to get myself showered, dressed and the kids off to school.
Let’s talk about what I wore….I really do love this outfit, however it’s not something I would normally wear to a five star hotel. To my defense the weather had changed while I was gone (no fall clothes in my closet) and still on Mountain time, the best I could do was jeans. Yes, you can dress up almost every style of jeans. Looking back, a blazer or flowy blouse would have been more appropriate.
I’ve been dying to wear this amazing statement necklace by Langford Market which was my effort to pull it all together.

This month I’m working with two new brands - Lee Jeans and Kork-Ease. Do you remember Lee Jeans? I loved this brand growing up but my last pair was circa 1980 something. It’s definitely worth taking another look, especially at the Platinum Label sold exclusively at Macy’s, macys.com and lee.com.
The pair I’m wearing (Platinum Label Slender Secret Emerson Legging in Twilight on sale $42.99) are super comfy, sculpt your body and slim fitting. These can be worn with tall or ankle boots; the dark wash is on trend and appropriate year round. You can’t beat the price either.
The Michelle booties by Kork-Ease are my new fav this fall (soon to be winter). I’ve been following this brand for almost a year anxious to try their unique collection reminiscent of the 70′s. Rumor has it that Kork-Ease created the original cork wedge sandal. The fall 2013 collection features modernly sculpted silhouettes in rich full grain leathers in tall and ankle boots.
Meteora Grey (shown above) and Black are sold out on Kork-Ease.com but I managed to find them at Nordstrom and Zappos. Not only do I love the style (especially the design of the wedge heel), these have serious cushioning on the inside. The heel height (3 inch) is perfect but the padding is remarkable. Retail for the Michelle Bootie is $185 and worth every penny. This is a brand that I will be coming back to for spring and summer.
