It seems like every other day there’s another Ebola outbreak on the news and it’s starting to freak me out. My family is relatively healthy (knock on wood) and we rarely get sick beyond the common cold. I’d like to keep it that way, therefore preventative care is so important.

In case you may be wondering we do NOT get the flu shot and I don’t give this to my kids. No way.

You may remember we started using essential oils this past spring. Having success treating the fam with pretty severe colds, sore throats, sniffles, low grade fevers and sinus issues, I decided to kick up our usage while everyone is healthy.

I’m old fashion and prefer washing hands with soap and water and stay away from using alcohol based hand santizers. A natural alternative that I highly recommend is On Guard Protective Blend by doterra. I found a DIY hand cleanser using essential oils that blends On Guard with Aloe Gel. Not only does it cost pennies to make it’s chemical and alcohol free.

What is On Guard?

A proprietary blend of essential oils by doterra, On Guard protects against environmental and seasonal threats using essential oils known for their positive effects on the immune system. On Guard can be taken internally on a daily basis to maintain  healthy immune function as well as used on surfaces throughout the home as a disinfectant and non-toxic cleaner.  When diffused, On Guard helps purify the air, supports healthy respiratory function, and can be very energizing and uplifting. Applied topically, On Guard provides cleansing and purifying benefits while promoting healthy circulation.

DIY hand cleanser using essential oils

Diluting with the aloe gel I’m able to use on my kids spraying on their hands and feet every morning before school. The DIY hand cleanser is perfect for on-the go too. Keep one in your purse, at the office and stick one in school backpacks.

DIY Hand Cleanser Supplies Needed:

 Directions:

  • In spray bottle combine Aloe Vera and On Guard
  • Fill bottle the remainder of the way with water. Shake well and spray on hands and rub together.
