bethenny frankel hits chicago for calling all my girls tour
I’m a HUGE Bethenny Frankel fan, having followed her career since her appearance on Martha Stewart’s Apprentice. This week she was in Chicago for the Calling All My Girls tour promoting her new namesake talk show, Bethenny. I was invited to celebrate and help promote the premiere on September 9th at the fabulous Wit Hotel.
While I was extremely excited, you never know how celebrity events will transpire and if the guest of honor will truly be engaged or even make an appearance. This was one of the most well executed launch events I’ve attended in years.
The color of the night was Bethenny’s signature pink, girls were in pink dresses, guys wore pink button down shirts and of course the pink carpet. The moment we entered, the energy was contagious and you could tell every person in the room was excited to be there. At check in, guests selected a label containing different mantras like “No Judgement” (my pick) and”Go For It”, but were not told why. The venue was perfect. What better space to host than theWit Hotel’s Rooftop (one of my favorite date night and GNO spots)?
Sipping Skinny Girl cocktails and noshing on passed hors d’oeuvres, I eagerly awaited Bethenny’s arrival with a few of blogger friends, Meredith Sinclair, Jessica Ashley and Jennifer Evers. Tommy Riles warmed up the crowd as he does for Ellen DeGeneres, a sizzle reel featuring clips from the show played, guests asked questions or sent Bethenny personal messages in the confessional booth, the DJ was pumping music and everyone was hitting the pink carpet for photo ops.
Bethenny made her grand entrance running through the crowd (followed by those hot guys in pink shirts), took questions from the audience and twitter, shared about the show, selected five ladies who won a trip to NYC and the launch party AND everyone was invited to take a photo with her on the pink carpet.
Yes, she took a photo with each guest. Remember those labels? The pink shirted guys corralled us in groups based on the message we selected. How smart is that? Rather than waiting in one long line, we continued to drink and eat while waiting for our group to be announced.
NYC here I come!! To my surprise Bethenny’s team invited me to NYC too attend the taping of the first show AND the launch party. Stay tuned for more details…. Check out our entire event photo album here.
