Target Up & Up Diapers (#Giveaway)

Diapers are a necessity and I have yet to meet a mom who did not have a preferred brand. Comfort, leak proof and cost seem to be the most common criteria. According to BabyCenter.com’s Baby Cost Calculator, parents spend an average of $72 per month on diapers. It’s important to find a product that works well and easy on your  wallet. My youngest is almost out of diapers and I may have a party to celebrate the money we will be saving and can now spend on more “important” things. Like new shoes for mommy.

Over the past several weeks we put Target up&up diapers to the test.  As often as we shop at Target, I have never purchased anything from the up&up product line that offers over 1,000  health care, household care, personal care, baby care and beauty products. I was surprised by the difference in price of the up&up diapers when compared to popular national brands. An XL pack of Target up&up diapers costs $25.99 and averages .14 to .18 per diaper. Other brands average .20 to .26 per diaper.

But the question remains, do Target up&up diapers stand up to more expense diapers? The answer is yes!

This past several weeks we put up&up diapers to the test. Three sassy moms with kids ranging in age of 12 months – 3 years tried out the diapers and here’s what they had to say.

Baby #1: 19 months

What was your overall experience? The diapers fit the description of being thin and cloth like. At first glance I was concerned about leakage and overall protection.  We were pleasantly surprised to find that there were no issues with leaking and they seemed to fit our daughter well. My daughter also has very sensitive skin and she had no reaction to the diaper change.

Would you continue to use Target up&up diapers? We use Pampers during the day and Huggies overnight diapers at night.  Pampers usually has coupons in every box we purchase so Target’s price would have to compete with that discounted price for us to switch.

Baby B: 12 months

Did the diapers provide excellent leak protection?  Yes, we were concerned at first as the diapers are super thin but we had no issues with leakage.

How did the up&up diapers compare to the brand you are currently using? I liked that they were thin, yet absorbent.  I thought the closure tabs were really strong. They weren’t as soft on the outside as the diapers I use but that’s ok, it’s the inside that’s more important and that was soft.

Baby #3: 21 months

What was your overall experience? Our daughter is potty-trained during the day so we focused on nighttime use. I was a little worried because the diapers are much thinner than I expected, but surprisingly we experienced no leakage. She also stayed asleep longer and I suspect it was because the diapers were more absorbent than our cloth pull-ups.

How did the up&up diapers compare to the brand you are currently using?  We are using cloth pull-ups at night, however I have noticed my daughter is getting a rash lately. While using Target up&up diapers, I noticed the rash started to clear up. I would say these would definitely work well for babies with sensitive skin.

Would you continue to purchase the up&up diapers? Yes! Based on the performance and the cost. We begin potty training very early primarily due to the cost of diapers and trying to reduce the amount of diapers we contribute to our landfills. It would be great if these were biodegradable.
