This week’s What I Wore Wednesday outfit was hilariously put together by moi for a baby shower thrown by some of my dearest friends this past weekend. I had no time to go shopping for something new prior to the festivity, so inevitably, I ended up standing inside my closet in near-tears, pining through every last piece of clothing I own for the perfect outfit.
And then, somehow, it just all came together. That’s how these things usually work for me. I remembered I had this brown jersey dress that I had purchased nearly two years ago from Tribeca Boutique on Madison, which usually doesn’t make it off the hanger due to its clingy nature. However, what I have come to realize is that these types of dresses, while they can make for a lot of self-consciousness when you’re not pregnant and you feel the need to ‘suck it all in,’ actually work amazingly during pregnancy, because you can ‘let it all out!’
I paired this dress with a scarf, wrapped infinity-style, and my trustry brown Michael Kors booties.
(Here’s a maternity style tip: A great way to wear a scarf while you’re pregnant is to wrap it infinity-style, rather than letting it hang and flow, which can add volume to your body and baby bump.)
And what you can’t see in these pics are my Halston python-print bag and Topshop faux fur coat, which add a touch of fabulosity. At least I think so.
The Look:
Dress: Tribeca Boutique on sale two summers ago, $70
Boots: Michael Kors, approximately $150
Scarf: Target, approximately $9.99
