Potty Training On the Go – City Style

No part of potty training is glamorous, however it is a development skill that must be taught to our little ones. Throw in the city living and potty training brings on unique challenges. How will your kiddo access the potty while at the park, beach, street festivals, outdoor market or your morning walk?

This occurred to me when we were in the midst of potty training sassy kid #1. I asked my nanny how others were handling trips to the potty while at the park (specifically girls) where public restrooms are not accessible. She proceeded to tell me that many childcare providers would hold up a blanket and the girls would squat in the grass. While I am very familiar with this technique (I was raised in the south), I could not wrap my head around my 17 month old daughter learning how to go to the bathroom in the bushes. Let’s save that skill until AFTER the toilet has been mastered.

When I asked other sassy moms, no one seemed to have a solution other than taking the typical training toilet that sits on the bathroom floor. While that is an option, it does not fit in the bottom of the stroller and who wants to carry around a disgusting toilet?

Enter the greatest invention EVER! Potette Plus Travel Potty and Trainer Seat is the best on the go potty training product that can be taken anywhere that you may not have access to a sanitary bathroom. It features a contoured seat for your child’s comfort and has a sturdy, well-balanced base so your child feels secure. The legs lock into place when opened, and the potty folds flat so it can fit in a purse, diaper bag, or the included drawstring carrying bag.

How easy and convenient is that?? You simply unfold the legs, cover with a plastic bag,  insert a liner (or paper towel), sit and go. Literally.

This is one of most brilliant inventions for parents and was instrumental in helping us potty train our daughter by 20 months. The Potette Plus Travel Potty and Trainer Seat allowed us to stay on the go for several hours and never worry about having an accident. Sassy kid #1 is 3.5 and #2 is 1.5 years old and we carry this with us each time we leave the house.
