Battle of the Birthdays
Both my girls have birthdays in the same month but just two weeks apart. Both are quickly approaching and the pressure is on to host a fabulous party (s) for each. Here is my plan and I am very interested in your thoughts.
My one year old gets the Marth Stewart crafty, pimped up, homemade cupcake with a full bar party hosted at our home. Basically it is a party with all our friends to celebrate the fact we made it through the year and the kid survived in one piece.
My three year old gets the 2 hour playdate at a local kid’s activity facility with eight of her BFF’s concluding with a goodie bag and a store bought cupcake to go. Now don’t get me wrong, these will be gourmet fancy cupcakes and no one will be complaining.
Why you may ask? Well here’s the deal. I never want my second daughter to feel like I was too lazy of a mother to put the same amount of effort into her first birthday as I did her older sister. They are so close in age and with birthdays in the same month we will most likely host the next few together.
I am excited this year because I have partnered with two different charities to collect donations for in leiu of gifts! E’s party will collect plastic toys on behalf of Second Chance Toys…L’s party we will host a diaper drive on behalf of Bundle of Joy Diaper Bank.
So much fun but I just realized how much work I have to do and not much more time to plan!
